NBS AGM

The AGM of the Society was held on sunday Feburary, the 2nd. An excellent turnout of around 25 members were present and we had no shortage of volunteers for various positions.

The full list of officials is elsewhere on this site but briefly Brian stood down as Chairman after a few years in the role and replaced by Ray Melling, vice-chairman Paul Redford stayed in that position.

After a few years without an official publicity officer that role has now been taken by Brian Batey, a massive vote of thanks MUST go to our previous publicity officer and web-master Bruce Ross who did an excellent job over many years. Thanks Bruce.

Our new President if Gary Pringle and new vice-president is Arthur Oliver, both well deserved for the amount of time and effect they put into the fancy.

We also had Adrian Richards speaking about the latest BS decisions and he enlighted us on the workings of the Society and answered questions regarding various items, but mainly the new patronage regualtions and costs. I'm sure feedback will be welcomed by the BS.

Brian Minto

It is with great sadness that the NBS has received notifcation of the death of Brian Minto, Brian was a very active member of the Society in the 1980's and 90's being instrumental, along with Dennis Cairns and the late Brian Pybus, in the creation of our previous staging which was made and stored at his farm near Coxhoe. Brian's membership lasped in 2008 but there will be many who remember the gentleman with fondness.

Our condolences to his family.

Open and SRV Show Dates for 2025

Our 2025 Open show date has been mover back two weeks and will now be on week 28, the 13th July 2025. Judges are Bev Hutt, Graham Barton, John Punchard and Robbie Keeber.

Special and Rare Variety show date - September 14th 2025. Judges to be annouced soon.

Judges engaged are Ian Clarke and Adrian Richards
