At the request of Dave Herring I have taken the ' In memory of John Herring ' from this site
The BS as promised, is to hold the Spring Event in the NBS area this year 2012. We are very pleased as this is the NBSs 75th Anniversary, founded 1937
The Holiday Inn, Seaton Burn, Northumberland, this is just a few miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne, has been chosen for Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May 2012. The whole event is to be held under one roof.
The NBS are to run the show but the rest of the weekend is under the control of the BS.
The BS will publish details on their web site www.budgerigarsociety.com and in the Budgerigar as they did for the Woking event.
I know many will not have heard of Seaton Burn but if you check your maps you will see how close to the A1 it is, Newcastle airport and the main line Kings Cross- Edinburgh rail network.
For the ladies, check and see how close to the Metro Centre, Eldon Square, Boundary Mill and Royal Quays shop till you drop
Fish is still landed at North Shields so go and eat some proper fish and chips.
We are in a short distance from the Scottish Border so there are some magnificent places to visit on our doorstep, including Hadrians Wall and the outdoor Beamish Museum, this is a working museum.
I hope I have given everyone time to save their pennies and come along for a memorable weekend.
